New year, New house

2012 is ending on a fantastic note for us...we sold our first house back in November and bought a new, bigger house! With a brief 2 weeks and 2 days of living with my dad, we closed on our new house December 12th. Just in time for Christmas! We are absolutly loving the space...the new house is double plus some of our old house :) 4 Bed, 2 1/2 bath, living room, family room, playroom, loft and more. Its perfet for us!! It seems to be taking forver to get things exactly how we want them, but thats ok.

Pics of the inside coming soon!

Mia's allergic reaction

Mia has had a rough month...seems like the kids keep picking up colds left an right this fall, poor Mia's keep turning into sinus infections. She was put on amoxicillan and this was the result of that....

The poor girl broke out in hives and by day 3 when we went to the Dr. they were covering about 90% of her body and the reaction had gotten so bad/deep that she started getting what looked like sever bruising and her fingers/toes turned blue! Very scary for sure!! A week of steroids and a stronger antihistimine took care of that, but now she is on another antibiotic to hopefully finally knock out the sinus infection that started it all!

Pumpkin Patch

Lillian has her first field trip with school next week to a pumpkin patch. Since her and I get to do that together, Brayden, Mia and I went together to a different pumpkin patch while Lillian was at school one day. We had a good time, All of us went on a hayride and played on a giant hay stack. and then Brayden went on a small pumpkin train and a giant jumping pillow...Brayden then picked out 2 small pumpkins to bring home.

neglected blog!

Wow I have really neglected this blog! Ooops! Ok so let me update on everything thats happened....

Mia: July 23rd My mom came for a visit, we spent the day doing fun things (now I cant really remember exactly what we did) that evening, we all went out to dinner as usual when she visits..we came home and Mia had fallen asleep so I laid her on our bed...something I often did since she shares our room. She usually cries when she wakes up..so when she cried after waking up I went to get her...the poor girl was on the floor! I picked her up feeling very bad and she continued to cry inconsolably, I checked her all over and did not see any signs of injury so I continued to just try and console her thinking she was just over tired and hadn't been ready to wake up. She cried for an hour and 1/2 so I gave her Tylenol thinking maybe the new teeth she was getting were causing pain and thought I would go ahead and put her back to bed. Before she went back to bed I finally got her to let me put her down for a couple mins to play and we realized she would not crawl!! I took her into daddy who was laying down watching tv to cuddle before bed and he said she wasn't using her left arm at all for anything! Oh no! We thought maybe she just twisted when she fell or something and she was also still very tired so I went ahead with bedtime. The next morning she woke up at 6am...still not using her left arm :( I called the dr. when they opened at 8am and they said they would see her at 9am. Saw the dr and he sent us to the hospital for xrays...my poor baby's arm was broken!!! We were then sent to the Peyton Manning children's hospital and came home with a pink cast for 4 weeks :( Mia since had the cast removed and I think she has forgiven mommy for putting her on the bed for a nap. Lesson learned!

first moments with the cast (leaving the hospital)

Brayden: Just a few days after Mia's injury, Brayden turned 3! We had a party for him at my dads house and the kids had a really great time swimming and playing with their friends. Nanny made an awesome lightning McQueen cake for Brayden and he got some awesome presents. I think so far one of his favorites is a big boy bike from grandpa. Not kidding when I say we have to go outside to ride it every single day :) I can't believe it has been 3 years since this little guy came into our lives! There is never a dull moment with this goofball. Pretty soon he will be starting a parent and me soccer class too! He is so excited! He has wanted to take a soccer class ever since Nanny bought him a soccer ball several months ago :)

Lillian: Oh my sweet 5 yr old! Despite my efforts to stop time, time kept ticking and the day came where it was time to send my baby, my first born, off to the biggest adventure of her life! Kindergarten! She was very exited to start and ride the bus and do all the things that big kids do. We are now 3 weeks in and she still loves it, but I think she sometimes misses being home more. She has a little trouble switching gears when she gets home...she is tired...but everyone else is very excited that she is home so we are still working out the kinks on that.

Our son the piggy bank!

Brayden gave us quiet a scare this past week. On Wednesday we had been spending time at grandpas swimming, cooking out, having a great time until we got in the car and things took a scary turn. I am driving down the road and suddenly hear him gagging..I turn around and see him vomiting! At first glance I think he is just sick to his stomach. He would not stop crying and continued to vomit several times...all the while I am asking him a ton of questions just to find out what was wrong. He finally manages to tell me he has swallowed a COIN! Not knowing where he got it, what size of it or anything I call 338-KIDS..a local 24/7 nurses line...explained what the situation was and they advise us to go to the Emergency Room! So Brayden and I head that way..by now it has been 20 mins of vomiting/crying/screaming. We get to the ER parking lot and he vomits once again....this time..bringing up the coin! A QUARTER!! He seemed to immediately feel better, a did I! We did not even have to make it into the ER doors thank goodness!! He has since been fine and I believe all the kids learned a very valuable lesson from that night!

Month in Review

Wow it has been a long time since I have updated this! We have done a lot of fun things over the past month! We went to touch-a-truck at the mall where the kids got to climb on/in some everyday favorites they see on the streets. Brayden was pretty excited, Lillian on the other hand..was still a little timid and scared of the noise.

Lillian also FINALLY decided she was ready to try swimming w/o any type of floatation device..of course if she tries something, Brayden needs to also..or so he thinks. Now, after some practice, both kids are swimming underwater by themselves from the side of the pool about 5 feet in and back. Lillian can go a bit further if she really tries. Exciting and exhausting stuff! Exhausting b/c now that is all they want to do and since they need help...that means no relaxing for mom and dad.

Lets see..now on to 4th of July. Boy was it super hot that day! We spent the morning relaxing at home and playing in the kids pool while daddy went to see a movie. After he was back, we went to the Noblesville Parade. I think we made it about an hour out in the heat and then decided to call it quits. We then went home and ordered pizza, played for a bit and headed back out to watch fireworks at the highschool. The weekend following the 4th we went to Terre Haute for a cookout and spent the night with Mikes mom. The kids were excited to spend the night with Nanny :)

Not much happened between the 4th and now as far as big activities...we have done a lot of swimming, playing with friends, making new friends and just enjoying the summer before Lillian starts school full time in August.

Lillian is 5!

I can't believe it, the time has come and gone for our little girl..our baby, to turn 5! It was 5 years ago that our lives changed forever, we became parents! Oh my how things have changed over the last 5 years. Seeems like just last week our sweet newborn girl took her first breath...now she 5!??! How did this happen!? She is one amazing kid though, yes she has her moments of being a sassy pants, but mostly she is a  smart, funny, energetic, happy, healthy, sweet kid.

We spent her actual birthday hanging around the house b/c we had our friend Cailin over to care for all day, but Lillian still enjoyed her gifts from mom and dad and had all her favorite meals..donuts from Marsh, Taco Bell for lunch. Then that evening we went out for her choice of Birthday Dinner at Wolfies waterfront grill. Tried to feed some ducks but couldnt find any to feed so Lillian ate the bread herself. After that, we came home and had more favorites...cupcakes and Brownies!

May 30th 2012

A few days after her birthday was the big party that Lillian had been planning for the last 6 months! We had cake, cupcakes, ice cream, snacks, a game and best of all...a bounce house! Her theme this year was Hello Kitty..and I think almost all her gifts were Hello Kitty related..she was so excited!

Nanny made the cake and it was soo yummy!

Memorial Day Weekend

Finally got pis uploaded from the weekend...We had a great weekend and spent most all of it in water! Saturday afternoon we were going to take a train ride, but upon arriving for it, we learned it was only doing the rides on Sunday...so instead we went home and played in our pool and slip n slide.Sunday morning we were headed to the sprinkler park...it didnt open until 10am so we drove around to see a couple houses...found 2 or 3 we REALLY want to see..they looked perfect for us. Time will tell if any of them are meant to be though. After the sprinkler park we got lunch and the kids took naps, papaw came to visit and then...back out to play in our pool!! Monday, we went over to have a cookout with Stephanie and her family..the kids were soooo excited to see their cousins...and guess what...more water play!! We spent 4 hrs there and the kids played non stop on their awesome water slide.

Friday fun.

Last Friday we had a House showing so we all loaded up and spent the morning at the neighborhood playground...it was fun, but pretty hot..even at 9:30am! Kids still had fun though.

Don't worry,I was super close..just balanced her for a pic :)

Lillian is still working on the courage to go down the pole without help.

After we left the playground we went and got some lunch and had some friends over to play, then daddy came home from work early...perfect Friday and perfect way to kickoff a holiday weekend!

Not really much to say about this, just thought it was cute :)

Preschool Graduation

We now have an official preschool grad! It was actually last Thursday, but I have been busy.
We can not believe how fast the year went!

Preschool grads Lillian and Kiley

It was a cute program, when all the kids got their diploma they were asked what they wanted to be when they grew up...Lillian said "a princess". Works out perfectly b/c mom and dad want to live in Disney World!

Dancing Queen!

Lillian is taking a 4 week combo tap/ballet class! Mom and Dad are so excited she finally is showing interest in doing group activites...especially DANCE! Thursday she had her 1st class. She was so pumped! Even better, we talked cousin Rachy into doing the class with her!

1st school Party!

First: I can NOT believe we have a child old enough to be having a party at SCHOOL! We are both really struggling with the fact that our 1st born will be 5!

Even though her actual Birthday is not until May 30th, we got to celebrate at school anyway since school ends next week! We had to make a poster board with a picture of each year of life and then mom had to tell all the kids about each picture.

Lillian was very concerned with making sure mom did everything right so the teachers wouldnt be mad HAHA. The party was fun, we made brownies and took in some juice...but Lillian made be bring her some water...she doesnt like juice. She was upset with me when I forgot the water bottle in the car so a teacher came to the rescue with water :)

After the snack the kids had a chance to play, but Lillian said all the kids were too crazy so she and her buddy Kiley just hung out with me :)
